Always Looking Forward

Hillcrest Preparatory School

Students entering the Preparatory School can look forward to an invigorating curriculum that will broaden their horizons and propel them to achieve their individual potential. Our international teaching Staff is dedicated to providing stimulating, diverse lessons that inspire students to find new ways to engage with subjects. Students follow the British National Curriculum, and work towards the internationally recognised Common Entrance examinations at the end of year 8. Combined with our exciting extra-curricular programme and sporting success, we are sure that Hillcrest Prep School is the number one choice for your child.

Did you know that we can arrange a Taster Day?

Taster days are the perfect way to experience life at Hillcrest Prep School. Your child will be assigned a buddy for the day and will be fully immersed in a normal school day to get a true taste of  the school. For further information, please email

Whole School Open Day 19 and 20 September 2014

During our Friday Open Morning, classrooms will be open and you will be able to see us in action, observe lessons and activities and chat to teachers and children. You will be taken on a tour by our own pupils who are delighted to be able to talk about the school they love. It is a very popular activity at Hillcrest Prep to be a tour guide on Open Days!

Our Saturday Open Morning is structured a little differently. Between 0900 and 1200 you will be able to tour the school observing (and taking part if you wish!) a variety of activities, from sports and science to maths, drama and the arts. Our new Headmaster, Mr Ian Rosario-Hopkins will speak briefly every 30 minutes and be available to chat to over a welcome cup of coffee throughout the morning, as will all teaching staff. If you would like more information, please contact the School Office by email on

Year 8 Wider Horizons Programme

After the Common Entrance exams, the Year 8 students embarked on a 'Wider Horizons' programme where not only did they successfully climb Mount Kenya, but they also had the opportunity to explore many of the delights that Kenya has to offer.

Some of the activities that they were involved in included visiting Brown's Cheese, Nairobi National Park, Kitengela Glass, KAG school in Kibera and the Ngong Hills where they left a legacy of their time at Hillcrest by planting trees. In addition, one of the major highlights was recording their 'Leavers Song' with the help of the Homeboyz radio station and recording studio. More information on this, including a download of the song, can be found here.
